​Grace Cotrone, RDMS is a board-certified diagnostic medical sonographer with credentials in OB/GYN, the owner of Over the Moon Ultrasound Boutique, and most importantly - a mom.​
​
After years of working in the medical field, and seeing expectant mothers rushed through ultrasound appointments, Grace was inspired to create a space where expectant families could slow down, feel supported, and truly enjoy seeing their baby.
Combining professional expertise with a personal understanding of motherhood, Grace is truly passionate about creating a calm, welcoming space where families can connect with their baby, feel reassured, and celebrate every special milestone along the way.

What is ultrasound, and is it safe?
Ultrasound uses sound waves to generate an image. There is no radiation exposure to the patient or baby. Over 30 years of extensive studies have proven that ultrasound does not cause any harm to the mother or baby. In fact, high risk pregnancies are monitored using frequent ultrasound exams.

Does this take place of an ultrasound at my doctor's office?
Our imaging services at Over the Moon are elective and non-diagnostic. We recommend that all our soon to be moms be under the care of an OB/GYN. Our services are meant to be a bonding experience between the mother and their baby.

How can I best prepare for my appointment?
Hydration is key! Be sure to drink plenty of fluids and eat 30 minutes prior to your appointment. The best results are obtained when the baby is most active.

Can I bring friends / family to my appointment?
Absolutely ! Please let us know how many people are planning to join you so we can make accommodations.

What is the difference between 2D and 3D ultrasounds?

When is the best
time to see baby?
2D 3D
Generally between 26 to 30 weeks of pregnancy. At this stage, the baby has developed sufficient body fat, making their adorable facial features and body more distinguishable and detailed in the images.

The 12 - 20 week stage is great for capturing the 'full picture' - seeing babe's whole body, listening to heartbeat, and watching for baby's movements!
​
After 30 weeks, it becomes more challenging to get clear images due to the limited space in the womb as the baby grows larger and has less room to move around.
